Ottawa man charged in violent Toronto sex assault

An Ottawa man faces nine charges in connection with a violent sex assault on a woman in Toronto.
Robert Meinzer, 38, was arrested at his home in Ottawa Monday morning, and was released on bail following an appearance before a judge, Toronto police Const. Tony Vella confirmed Tuesday.
The charges, all related to the same assault on the Toronto woman, include: Break and enter with intent to commit a crime; assault; forcible confinement; sexual assault; two counts of assault with a weapon, choking, anal intercourse and extortion.
