Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr is defending an Australian banker who was caught ogling half-naked photos of her during a live TV interview.

Kerr says the Macquarie Bank worker, identified as Dave Kiely, shouldn't lose his job over the incident.

The video, which has become a viral hit on the Internet, shows Kiely at his desk opening e-mail attachment photos of the model on his computer while a camera rolled on a colleague in the foreground.

At the end of the TV interview, Kiely is seen in the background turning around to face the camera in a "gotcha" moment as he realizes he was being filmed the entire time.

The financial company he works for says it is investigating the incident, and Kiely's job may be hanging in the balance.

But Kerr, a 26-year-old Australian-born model, says she hopes the banker will not suffer the worst.

"I am told there is a petition to save his job, and of course I would sign it," she told news.com.au.
